Arnold Park, How is the course looking?

Postby gottagothrow on Thu Apr 29, 2010 7:32 pm

I have yet to play the course. I drove by and walked a few holes a few weeks after installation though.

How is it looking these days?
Are there still leagues/weeklies there?

Thanks,
DD

Slow and steady. Adrian and Bubba have put a lot of hours into spreading mulch to help with the mud issue. I did some trimming of the poison ivy and saplings from the fairway. It is playable, even when wet. You just have to stay out of the puddles. Adrian is always looking for volunteers to help out, give him a call if you every have some free time.

Tee signs coming soon! More mulch will be spread, plenty of mulch.

Did I mention mulch?

The signs are complete and the course is the best it's ever looked.

We'll make it even better, just wait.

The course overall looked great. Granted, the back 5 holes are alllllll up in some woods, and I think the course captain will eventually clean out the fairway ground on these holes, too. It's all just a matter of time.

The mosquitoes though.... holy crapsh*t.
I've never seen so many in my entire life.

Quick question. Are there tee signs for both tee pads? Haven't played here since January and I'm taking the COO of my company there because he lives close and hasn't played for 26 years since he played the 1st and 2nd courses ever made in the US in Pasadena. Not saying that he can handle the long tees, but I'm hoping to after the first round.

Also, I'm heading there on Tuesday. I'm hoping there is no league going on or anything else. Let me know if there is.

-Tee signs are on both tees.

-There is no league as of yet. Night flight soon to come though!

-Yes, the mosquitos are crazy because of all the flooding the course has seen. Bug spray is a must, I wouldn't play without it.

We should have benches out there by the end of summer and maybe a kiosk with a scorecard box.
