Rock Springs Park Alton Il

I absolutely love the course. I am a huge fan of Centralia too, and the course management aspect of Alton reminds me a lot of Centralia, just shorter holes. On 11 I've had the best luck throwing a thumber off the tee then a short dump thumber to the green. It'll be awesome once some tees and garbage cans get put in and the course gets beaten in a bit.

Unfortunately it takes the park months to take down the Christmass display, well thats how it has been in the past. That is the basicly the only thing people go in there for, and the ball golf course. Now that the park has more usage due to the Disc Golf Course maybe I can light a fire under their ass and get them to take the lights down or at least open a gate, we will see. As for now I park at a pull off right next to the gate at the end of #8 and walk up to the pavillion for #1. The Christmass display does not effect the course at all, you can play with no problems. If anyone has any other questions about The Rock, i can answer for ya.

I very much love this course! Very challenging, and yes, the suicide drop offs are a pain, but why you throw 'em, right? The challenge! Anyway, my best score from the reds is a 58. 68 from the blues. Speaking of, can anyone tell me if 15's blue is the same as 18's, only opposite directions? I could not find another blue tee for 15. Thanks
