JB Singles League in 2010?

This is the only bring your own partner doubles league in the city, if someone wants to play in a singles league then let them go to one already established. I think its a bad idea to change the only cummulitive doubles league in the city.

I would much rather have a singles league. Playing doubles should be left to casual play...

I'm confused. Is it Maurice or Leroy? I know for a fact that Leroy can customize whatever bench or tree you ask for. His zen touch with the spray can is undeniable.

You know, you're right. It is the LEROY tree on 12. So, I guess #13 belongs to Maurice. I think he lives in the graffitied dumpster....314!!!!

I agree on singles league. Everything starts slow but the better players will navigate there way except the HC(hard core) WB players on Thrusday nights.

hey jeff thanks for posting the weekly schedule.

the main reason i suggested a saturday or sunday in the winter is lack of sun light starting around noon. during the week most people are not off until 3:30 or later then dark by 4:00
as far as the available days is it really going to be a problem to have two saturday winter leagues on the same day.considering both of the courses or on total opposite side of st.louis. i know alot of people that would play sioux pass more but dont just because of how far they live. personally i think people should have the option to play one or the other if the opportunities presents itself.

also i thought the more leagues there are the more exposure to the public eye. its all about making the sport grow. which i know it will. im sure i can speak for a whole lot of players it didnt take long to get addicted to disc golf .

Does JB really need a 3rd league? Friday is the only weekday that is available without interfering with another league. And there are usually plenty of opportunities to get a round of singles in at JB on Friday afternoon.

This looks like a dead subject, but I was thinking of running a Friday happy hour singles $5 per including an ace pool and instant pay out at the end of the round. If we get aproval for carondelet I'll be moving it there or bailing on it all togeather. So I can do this but I'll need help "TD-ing" it. Fridays can be busy work days for me and I'm sure a lot of you as well. So with 2-3 "TDs" we can do it.

How about starting this coming Thursday March 18th? I'll need some help running this, I have a work schedule that is not regular. The goal with this league is new players.

Weather Permitting

BEGINNERS $1
LADIES $1
AMS $3
PROS $5
• This is a casual league for new players to improve your skills.
• Learn from other disc golfers how to improve your game.
• Cards will be randomly sent out with a mix of all divisions
• 1 round with payout at the end

Last Thursday was the first week and we had a great turn out. 15 players! Much to my surprise a three way tie with a 50 won the pro, ams a 52, and only 1 beginner. This week the weather is not permitting. I will not be out today. See you this weekend or next week.

I made it an announcement so it will stay on "top" for all to see.

I will likely delete this thread in a couple of days since the league is now going on.

I wonder if I should create a forum solely to track leagues around St. Louis?
Put all the LEAGUE announcements and updates in one Forum?
Say under the Courses, but just have the Forum read "LEAGUES" or some such.

Thoughts? Ideas?
