Just a reminder about next Tuesday (see previous posts)...

Everyone invited. EVERYONE. Bring your friends, spouses, siblings, offspring, you name it. I have space for 50 people to be a part of the official Gateway 1-Disc Challenge. If everyone from league shows up, that leaves room for 7 more people. I will take reservations. First 7 gauranteed to play, then a wait list. If you miss the cut, no biggee. You still get to have fun playing golf and eating all the pizza, wings, and ravioli you can handle for $5. Not to mention the famous CTJ's!

Gateway has generously sponsored the 1-Disc Challenge. I will receive 50 brand spankin' new Gateway discs beforehand. This is what everyone plays with. League players play for free, everyone else must throw in $5 towards the cause.

What was (or are you considering) doing for the awarding of the Summer League Ace pool?

My thoughts, take it or leave it as I know some will have issues, and some will hate them.

1) For Tuesday evening: I like the idea of having 9 or more CTPs for a portion of the ace pool.
IE $24-$30 each. However, this may not be fair do to using discs most of us are unfamiliar with.
2) DON'T wait until after the round to "throw-off" for the ace pool (or majority of). Too dark and
everyone will be anxious to get to the Pizza Party...
3) Have everyone throw off on hole 1 before they officially start the 1-disc tourney with whatever disc they choose. Then award the closest 3 (or more, or less) their appropriate portion of the ace pool.
4) Just simply throw-off for the ace pool before the round starts at all. Winner takes all. (or top two?).

Just random thoughts and ideas.

Let us know what you decide beforehand as to not upset anyone showing up thinking one thing and then doing another.

Good point with the CTP situation. How about having 2 CTP shots before the round. The first CTP from Tee1 to Hole1. The second CTP from TempFlags to Hole 9. Top 2 on each get $50. I'll also put some FREE CTP holes on the course too. If anyone has some plastic they would like to add to the cause, please let me know. 3 CTP's is cool, but 18 is much better!

Shotgun on Tues Doh? if so, what time are you looking at?

It will not be a shotgun start. I will send cards out as soon as they are ready to go. Even though there are a couple trophies on the line, this is a very casual, fun event. I should have things ready to go around 3:30 PM. I'll keep sending cards out until 5:30 PM or so. If you are going to be late, try to let me know beforehand.

BTW, I know what kind of discs we will be receiving for the 1-Disc Challenge. It will be a Gateway....damn, forgot! Seriously, I am hoping to keep this a secret until tomorrow. If you also know this info, please keep it zipped.

Also, the pizza party will not start until I am on the way there. This means that there is no advantage to getting there early. You will not be getting any pie, wings, or t-ravs until I give the go ahead.

Don't forget, if you have some quality plastic or disc golf gear that you would like to donate for CTP's, please help me out. I would like a bunch of CTP's for the 1-Disc Challenge, and will also need a bunch for the Fall League.
