Ace pool will be starting at $179

I did want to see if anyone had any comments on how I paid out the ace pool. It seemed to work exactly how I was hoping it would and other then Sarah's ace the first week it has kept the ace pool at a decent level. I will post the payout structure below in case you didn't know how it works.

$0-100 50%
$101-200 60%
$201-300 70%
$301-400 80%
$400+ 90%

Hey flapper,

You and jeree atriks are going down. Just go ahead and give me my 30 pack now with the one you already owe me and save yourself the time.

I have a problem with the ace pool payout. I didn't get any.

To play in the league, do you have to be a St. Louis Disc Golf Member?

No, you don't need to be a member of the St. Louis Disc Golf Club.

I'll have everything posted tomorrow. It may take a bit. How about 102 players!

There was a phone turned in. Let me know if it is yours.

Also my partner Doug lost a disc on hole 16 if anyone happens to be playing tomorrow morning. I am 99% sure that it is sitting in the deepest water to the left of the path going over the creek. About 100 feet left of where you cross. It was just too stirred up with the rain to see it. If anyone could take a look next time they play it would be appreciated.

I wanted to bring up one thing just to prevent any problems down the line. In the event that league night is canceled due to weather the ace pool will not pay out nor will the CTP's count. Brad was aware of this on Tuesday and did not seem to have any problem with. It wasn't discussed in great detail, but a few guys on my card seemed to think the ace pool should pay out even if league is canceled.

Here is my take on it. League has been canceled in the past and it will be again in the future. That is something that is not up for debate. Cards do go out over a 2 hour period, so many players are finishing their round before myself or anyone else starting late even goes out. Over that 2 hour period the weather can change quite a bit. Sometimes the weather is better for those starting early, sometimes better for those starting late. That is just luck of the draw.

Let's say you do start your round at 4:00 and are done by 6:00. Let's also say that you hit an ace. Myself and whoever else starting late goes out, but after playing only 3 holes a huge thunderstorm comes in and forces us to stop playing. Don't tell me to just play in the storms because that is not going to happen. Should the ace pool pay out when not everyone has even had a chance to play all the holes? In my opinion absolutely not. Everyone deserves a fair chance at hitting the ace. When everyone is not able to play a full round you are not give a fair chance. Same as with the CTP's. Would you want a CTP to be paid out when you never even had a chance to play the hole? Doesn't sound very fair to me.

I have given my reasoning for not paying out the ace pool and CTP's when league is canceled. If you feel that they should be paid out give me a reasonable argument to do so and I may change my mind.

Tonight, league was cancelled due to inclement weather, lightning/heavy rain,....

Andy, I just spoke with Greg D'Ohogne, and he told me that JB Summer league was not cancelled, but as this was their first week of league,we are now going to be finishing at the same time, the first week of August....
Life is short, make the most of every opportunity you get to do the right thing, even when it would be easier to just say "Screw it, I don't care." Make a difference, one opportunity at a time. Smile!
