Bot Members on the website?

Just wondering,

Is anyone filtering through the website's membership and deleting bot's? I just was wondering because over the last few days I noticed the names of the new members on the bottom of the Board Index page, and they seemed fake. Just by flipping through the members, at about page 8 you start noticing people with hyperlinks for viagra and living in places like Fiji, Zimbabwe, Kyrgyzatan, and Poland, just to name a few of the 100 or so names I saw.

The only reason that I bring this up is because it's nice to have a website that works, and it really sucked when the other website went down. This is by far the best place to find out what's going on, and when the site went down last time it made it hard to find out when tourney's were going on and other information.

Also, any way to heighten security to stop these guys from getting on here?

No replies? Nothing as for members has changed, so I guess no one is doing anything about it. Just was trying to help.

Jeff Irwin is the manager and may not know how to deal with this issue. I do not know how time consumming this sort of thing is. There are members who are computer literate and may have the time to add filters or delete false members. Some have volunteered to help in the past. PM Jeff or post here if you know what to do and are willing to do it. I agree that the website needs all the protection we can give it.

This needs to be resolved NOW. You have people with hyperlinks like:
http://bad-diarrhoea.in
and others with curse words and young girls $@*&^%! themselves.

The young people in the club on here don't need to see it and this is the 4th or 5th time I am volunteering my time to get rid of these people if someone tells me how to do it.

I used to be a moderator on the old site, before the trojan horses took over.
I am still willing and able to do so on this site. I have mentioned this to Jeff Irwen a few times.
If he wants help, he has several volunteers to choose from to help out with the Message Board.
The only thing I did, which actually was simple and easy to do, was remove members who have no business being here, such as those listed above, and remove posts that make it onto the site that are obviously spam.
I didn't moderate users back and forth arguing and what not, just the spam posts.
It is up to Jeff to let us help him or not.
