I tried to get everyone a handout last night, but just in case I forgot anyone here is one last reminder.

Next week is the final night for the spring league. There will be a 5:30 PM shotgun start. Try to arrive by 5:15. If you are going to be late please give me a call at 314-413-4773.

Food and beverages will be available after the round.

WEEK 8 OF LEAGUE

Final night of league and we couldn’t have asked for any better weather.

Thanks to everyone for making it out. I would also like to thank all of our sponsors. St. Louis Disc Golf Club for supplying the discs for payout (thanks Joe and Morgan Hart for handling everything with that). Dan Nixon with Rookies Bar and Grill for again supplying about 300 hot wings. Brian Moskop and QT for giving us many free sandwiches for prizes. Dave McCormack/Gateway Disc Sports for supplying some free discs. Discgolfersr.us for supplying free stickers.

Thanks to my partner, Chris Horvath, for taking care of all the cooking and helping out where needed. Couldn’t do it without you. And finally Dan Nixon and Greg Kuehn for helping out every week until I could show up.

I do apologize for not having the keg supplied as usual. And I’m sure Doug feels even worse about it then I do. There is a new person at the brewery that he had to deal with and things just didn’t work out as planned. It sounds like we should be OK again for the summer league and if not we now have a good backup plan in place. I came home with a cooler full of beer, so there was certainly enough on supply. I just had to charge my cost for it. Thanks to everyone for paying and understanding the situation.

There was $54 paid into the ace pool to bring the total to $179. Jeremey Lawrence hit an ace on hole # 11. It’s always good to hear a nice round of applause for an ace. It’s even better to hear a louder round of applause when you find out he was not in the ace pool!!! All $179 will carry over to the summer league.

Jim Misuraca won the long drive contest and Morgan Hart takes the putting contest.

There were two CTP’s for each flight. I forgot to keep the names, but here are the holes.
4 – C
5 – D
6 – E
7 – A
8 – B
9 – C
10 – D
11 – E
12 – A
13 – B

The top 4 in A flight were paid out, top 6 in B flight paid out, top 7 in C flight paid out and everyone in D and E flight walked away with something. I almost always pay out pretty deep, but I did pay out much deeper then usual. That is just something that will vary somewhat depending on how the scores are looking when I set the payout. If anyone has any suggestions or comments about the payout please let me know.

Below are the scores. The score on the left in bold is your total with BOTH drop weeks. The weekly scores are to the right. Scores with an * are played cali. Your score is a 126 if neither partner shows up.

Missed out on goodies

Postby JakeDaSnake on Wed May 20, 2009 10:03 am

Had a great time at the Spring League and am looking forward to Summer League. This was my first time playing league out at Quail Ridge and I liked the relaxed startup time. Traffic sux! Thanx for the food last night, much appreciated, and definitely work on the keg for summer league party. That would be sweet! My partner and I played White Birch league last year, and this was a different but equally fun league. Payout were much more genereous here too. We took off last night after finding out we did not place. Neither of us have the skills for the putting competition or longest drive, so we left to drink away our sorrows at home. A little later, Emoney gave me a call and said we were in the payout. :o Is there any way we can still collect? I don't mind waiting till the summer league starts up and dealing with it then. If not, no biggie. Thx

Jake, there is really only one thing I can do since I don't like to carry things over from league to league. I'm pretty sure you guys won a voucher for $30. I did turn in your voucher for discs to be used in the summer league since I didn't know if you guys would be returning or if I would see you again. There have been teams in the past that have won and I won't see them again for a long time or not again at all. Unfortunately I somehow had the wrong voucher for you and the one I turned in was in the amount of $24. With that I picked up 2 championship beasts (I was busy at the time and they were the first thing I grabbed). Not even sure on the weight or color. You guys are certainly welcome to have those discs. I'll bring them out the first night of summer league. Hopefully that will work for you.

Magic - Thank you! That will be just fine. I don't care about weights or colors, as long as they are not black! I honestly have no idea why black discs are even made. It's a conspiracy among disc manufacturers to get us to lose them and buy more! LOL! Thx again, I'll see y'all in a couple of weeks.

Jake and Brandon - I checked the discs and they are Innova Champion Beasts. Both are 175 grams. One is red and the other is almost pinkish. I guess you two will have to fight over who gets the pink one! I'm sure I'll remember, but if not please remind me to get them for you the first night of summer league. I will have them with me.
