ATTENTION ATTENTION ROCK SPRINGS UPDATE

We had a bad storm roll through Alton last night and there are several LARGE trees down all over the course. Holes 6-7 look like a jungle, there is a tree on the pavilion at 1 and 13 and more trees down then I could count. Hole 3 is a total mud pit at the basket. The roads to 1 and parking area are actually closed, I just drove around the barricades to see how the course looked. I'm guessing they are not going to get in a hurry to cut these trees up once they are down all over Alton and our disc golf is probably the last thing they are worried about. No idea how this will affect the tourney tomorrow, could probably use a few working hands before things get started tomorrow.

tournament on or not. Bringing wife and daughter. Would be great to have my daughter on card with me and not worry aobut score. are we cutting/dragging trees before?

I talked to Jeff around noon and he was on his way to look at the damage. I told him to give me a call if he needed extra set of hands and chainsaw, but I haven't heard back. As of 5:30pm the road was still closed to the upper part of the park. I will go regardless, but I only live 5 min away.

we played a casual round at sioux passage on saturday. and still had the after party. the bemis tournament does not have a official date as of right now.

Just like i figured, Alton is SLACKEN on the clean up, all the trees have not been touched and the grass is getting tall, maybe everyone needs to call the city parks department every day until they get the course cleaned up.

The trees that fell on the pavillion have been cut. Its a start.

I was in alton today and played two rounds at rock springs. The course is very playable. The tree by the pavillion is almost removed. As far as tree damage holes 6, 12, 13, and 14 have tree damage still. all are playable except hole 13 you have to tee off about 60 feet from the tee pad. You can still make your own pad. Plus the grass is still tall. On the bright side I shot a (51) and a (53).
