Trivia Night for new course, April 18th!

Postby STARFIRE on Wed Apr 08, 2009 5:54 pm

This will not see the light of day unless enough money is raised. I wanted to start working on the design, unfortunately I was told I could not proceed until the funds were aquired.

Please come out and support local disc golf growth.

They're having a Trivia Night to raise money for this project.

Saturday, April 18th "Power Up Your Parks" Trivia Night @ The Arnold Recreation Center

$130 per team, no more than 8 people per team limit of 60 tables.

Free beer, soda and snacks provided as well as prizes for the trivia and a "themed table" contest.

Here's a link to the registration form...

It might be a 9 hole course but the RCF is willing to match 9 baskets making it 18!! 8-)

RCF and a few others will be designing the course.

The course is going in at Arnold Park, hopefully leading around the lakes edges.

Hope to see some of ya out there!

The Trivia Night went over very well!

We raised $4100 dollars for a disc golf course at Arnold Park!!! Now I just gotta talk them into making it 18 holes!

We should be working on the course come the first week of May. I'll keep everyone posted about the workdays, etc.

Just received an e-mail from the Director of Arnold Parks and Recreation. She said after the pools are opened they will be ready to move forward with this project!

We are scheduled to meet at the park near the end of May. We will then discuss boundaries, landscaping, residential property issues, etc.

After we know our boundaries for the course, then it's off to the design process!!! It's going to be a nine hole course with a practice basket(hopefully). 9/10 baskets will be coated hunter orange!(hopefully)

Blue and red tees with no holes being over 350'(if that). The first hole, if they let me, will start at the front edge of the lake and it plays 260' over the water and another 70' to the pin. That's the blue tee for Hole 1. Relatively easy to make it across the water and the pin is tucked behind four trees. I think that would be a great start for this course.
