Just sayin hi...

Postby REDARMY on Sat Nov 22, 2008 2:55 am

Name is Mike, i'm from florissant so white birch and sioux passage are my 'home' courses.

I'm lookin forward to formally joining up and seeing everyone at some tournaments. i could ceratinly use some help with my game. :(

Ahywho, i've got an idea brewing over at another forum for a way for us fellow St. Louis DG'ers to get together in this ball-shriveling cold. I'll post more details later.

Thanks for having me, and sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Welcome to the message board REDARMY. Hazelwood and Sioux Passage are pretty disparate courses which is a good thing for the golf game.

Whatever your brewing idea is for winter golfing, you might be happy to know that we traditionally have had a series of Ice Bowl tournaments with the motto: No wimps, no whiners, no excuses. Being a congenital optimist, I'm expecting an Ice Bowl schedule from the powers that be any day now. Sadly, being both a wimp and a whiner, I often forego them.

Anyway, hope to see you at the Turkey Toss at Jefferson Barracks this Friday.

JB is too far of a drive for me to justify the cost. I know gas is getting cheaper and all, but that's still not a trip i want to make.

As for the ice bowl? that looks like FUN. assuming that takes place closer to my neck of the woods, i'm in for that.

Disc up,

from the LAKERS. Hope to see you when we get back up north. There is a new course in Alton and that is kind of in north county. We will be there on Sunday, hope you can come out and meet up. 11:00. I would leave directions, but I am not sure how to get there, but I believe I can find out on this web site.

Alton is definitely in driving range from Florrisant. From SP, it'd probably take 15 mins max to get there.

yeah, alton i can do. thats just a short shot up lindbergh and across 367.

9:00 is earlier than i like to get up on sundays, but i'll manage. will there be anyone there i can pay my STLDGC fees to?

I won't have access to a computer for the next 24 hours but i'll look up an alton disc golf course online if noone here can give me directions.

as for the sioux passage league (will someone be THERE that i can pay league fees to?), i just don't have far enough drives to be competitive there, but i would like to make it out anyway; perhaps i can get some pointers. i just bought an innova beast a week ago, and i can tell i'm driving farther with that than i ever have before, but there's still work to be done :(.

Disc up golfers,

I edited the last entry for start time, show up around 10:30 start at 11:00.

Sorry about the change, but you know, what with getting 2 or 3 groups together communication can be tough.
