And we're not being given any opportunity to express a voice in the matter at all. No meetings. No vote. All without a word about what is to become of the course.

Yes, except that "nonsense" is a stark reality. The county and the River City Casino have absolutely decided that this is happening and they don't care about objections.

If their mind is made up no amount of complaining or petitions are going to do anything about it. In my opinion that best thing the Club can do at this point is secure permission for a course redesign when the water park goes in.
Even if JB switches to pay to play today, there is no way we can generate anywhere the revenue needed to be seen as a lucrative alternative to the water park. The course is awesome, and no one awaits to see it change, but I'd rather accept a redesign now instead of being forced to pull the course all together. It's already been redesigned once and we can do it again.
If people are going to put effort into anything at that course, it should be coming up with a place to put the holes we're going to lose to the water park.

To the last of my knowledge, the parks dept told the club that they would not allow baskets to be placed in any area where they did not currently exist. They were not happy with the places that the extra 9 temp holes (used during previous tournaments) had been placed and that it would not be an acceptable place to relocate baskets.

Of course, it was all extremely vague... but left me with the impression that any redesign would require the course to make room for the 5 lost holes in the current remaining space.

and to top it all off, the tee signs were put in only a couple months ago and now will have to be redone for any hole that gets changed.

I just found out today that the pink on the trees is for surveying.
It lets the surveyors know what and where they surveyed already.
It does not mean that all the trees with pink dots are going to be cut down.
Mugs and I are in communication and when they are ready to start on the water park I'm sure we will work something out.

Thanks for that bit of relief Mark. It's hard to be upbeat about this issue and I applaud you for being able to.

For those of you that do not know the water park is not going in on the golf course. As far as I know they decided to not go ahead with the placement on holes 14 15 16. Too many sink holes go figure. I heard from the park workers that they are going to build it at Grant's Shelter which is on the other side of the woods from Blackhawk Shelter.

This is very good news.
