I just got done talking with Dave, and we are going to make some minor changes and additions that will further enhance your league rounds at Carrollton.

First, I am going to be showing up to the course at 3PM every week. This is 1.5 hours earlier than previously stated. Hopefully this will allow some people that were on the fence due to time constraints the opportunity to join the league. Also, if you absolutely must get out earlier than 3PM, you can drop by the shop on your way to the course and check-in with Justin, Double D, or myself. As long as you have a twosome, you will be good to go. The only drawback to starting before 3PM is that you will not be able to shoot for the GATEWAY FREE CTPs or 50/50 CTPs...the opportunity for some random player to walk off with the flags before everyone else has a chance to shoot at them is simply too big.

Second, Dave is tossing around some ideas on how to give away more Gateway gear! He really wants to make this a premier league that everyone will want to get involved in. Ideas include card based CTP prizes, eagle prizes, and some other sweet giveaways. Look for these ideas to get mixed in soon!

Third, we also discussed trying to keep the group size to a maximum of 3 after 4:30PM. In other words, if you get there before 4:30PM, you can still play in a foursome. If you get there after 4:30PM, then you will need to go out in a twosome or threesome. This should help keep anyone from having to play in the dark.

Here is some information on the handicap system and the handicap results up to this point. If you played both weeks thus far, you now have an official handicap that will be used against your score the next time you play. If you have only played one week, you still have one more week to go until you get an official handicap. The next time that you play, your $5 entry fee will still be spread out amongst the payout ($2), 50/50s ($2), and ACE POOL ($1) to help give you some value until you do get your actual handicap. If you have not yet participated in the league, you will need to get 2 rounds in before you get an official handicap. Your $5 will be spread out like outlined above so everyone has a shot at winning some money. EDIT: If you have not established your official handicap yet, you will play in a separate division until you do so. In other words, you will not be competing directly against the players that are getting their handicaps figured in. Just wanted to clarify this...

Dave Mac and I are trying to figure out a way to incorporate PDGA Ratings and River City Ratings for first timers. Until we figure out a way to make it work, everyone will just have to deal with the 2-week qualification process. Like I stated above, I am still providing a good value for your $5, so hopefully this doesn't discourage anyone from coming out and participating for the first time...

BTW, if you would like your previous/current rounds to be PDGA rated, I am still working with the PDGA to make this happen. With any luck, this will be taken care of by next Monday...I think they have had enough time to recover from the PDGA Worlds already!

EDIT: After talking with the guys at the shop for a bit, we decided to modify the handicap percentages a tad so that they would be a bit more accurate. Also, instead of rounding down to full numbers only, we decided that half-strokes made sense as well.

Hey Greg, just a thought here. when you post the results can you add what score it took to win each of the skins? i can guess what some of them are but not all of them.

Here are the results from this past week...

Surprise, surprise...no ACES! The ACE POOL should be up around $140 next week. Someone is eventually going to hit Hole 4, 6, or 12...right?!

Everyone's handicap is starting to develop nicely, so maybe someone can take the title away from Alex next week...
