Here are the standings after Week 3...

No one hit an ACE, so the ACE POOL should be right around $200 next week. The layout remains the same, so you all know that there are plenty of opportunities to cash in!

The layout wasn't much longer than Week 1 & 2, but the scoring definitely cooled down a bit. The competition is getting tighter than a gnat's ass out there!

Now that we are past the point of any teams getting added to the mix, I figured I would pass along the numbers for you - JB Doubles Spring League this year has 90 participants. There are 44 2-person teams and 2 CALI "teams". It looks like it will be another 4 division league session! Thanks for your support!

Here are the standings after Week 4...

It was another big week for the ACE POOL! 3 people hit ACES - Pete Kahn on Hole 1B, Aaron Walther on Hole 2A (his 2nd of the Spring League), and Jason Samuelson on Hole 7A. Good job guys! The ACE POOL was at $192, so they each netted $64 for their nice shot. The ACE POOL is reset back to $0. Have no fear, however, as the ACE POOL has been bringing in $60+ each week, so it will be building up quickly once again. The layouts are also going to be getting a bit tougher every couple weeks, so the amount of ACE chances is going to start to diminish.

Scores were all over the place this week. There was a bunch of movement on the leaderboard. The competition is still looking pretty hot and heavy!

The Bean House Restaurant & Bar has started up a new CTP for league. Every week there will be a hole with a Bean House BONUS CTP on it. Only people that were at the Bean House the previous week will be eligible to compete for the prize. In other words, if you did not go to the Bean House after league the previous week you cannot write your name down on the CTP flag. If you would like to join us at The Bean House, just ask around and somebody nearby should be able to give you directions (its at the corner of Lemay Ferry and Telegraph roads).

Here is some exciting news...

First off, I would like to extend a big THANK YOU to Josh Henson for making all of this possible! He is the mastermind behind this incredible promotion that JB Doubles League has the privilege to run. You da man!

The JB Doubles League is hosting a Cardinal Ticket Raffle. There are 2 tickets available for Wednesday night, May 2nd. This is the Wednesday right before The 2012 St. Louis Open weekend. Why is this significant, you ask? If you happen to be the lucky winner, you will get to attend the game and sit right next to the NonStop Disc Golf Tour crew - Nikko, Dave, Will, and Cale! Not only that, but the NSDG crew will be putting on a disc golf exhibition ON THE FIELD before the game! You will get to witness some disc golf history being made! How cool is that!

I would like to make it clear that we are still hammering out all of the details. Everything is very close to being finalized, but their is a slight chance that the NSDG crew will not be able to make it to the game. Rest assured, however, that this is 99% ready to go. If you were them, would you miss this opportunity? On the slight chance that they can't make it, the winner will still have some killer seats to go watch the game from. Like I said, this promotion is a virtual lock, so proceed confidently. I just had to throw that out there for full disclosure purposes.

Raffle tickets will be available up until 5:00PM Tuesday, April 24th. I will pick the winner at The Bean House later that evening (after the JB Doubles League). If you are not a member of the JB Doubles League, but would still like to purchase some raffle tickets, please get a hold of me. You can do this via this discussion board, by phone, or in person. We will do what it takes to get your name in the hat!

75% of the proceeds will benefit the Jefferson Barracks DGC. The are a couple of large projects looming, and theses funds will go a long way towards getting them completed. Who knows, maybe we will be able to complete the stairs and bridges project on Hole 4 before the STLO! Stranger things have happened!

25% of the proceeds will benefit the JB Doubles League. The funds will be used to purchase a bunch of items for the FREE CTP holes that are offered every week. If you thought they were sweet before, just wait until I get to hand pick some items from the club inventory. Can you say Blizzard and Titanium? Once I make the divisional splits, I might even be able to offer individual division CTP flags for the various FREE CTP holes. Let's see how it goes...

UPDATE

Go Cards!

And the winner is...

Greg Wilcox!

Here is a link to a video I made of the selection process...

http://youtu.be/TKfrUEuKZVY

Greg, you can get the tickets from me anytime. If you would like me to send them to you in the mail, send me a PM and I will take care of it ASAP.

A BIG "Thanks" goes out to everyone that purchased tickets for the raffle! If you didn't come out the big winner, take solace in the fact that you are directly responsible for helping out with some upcoming course improvements at JB!

Here are the standings after Week 5...

Well, I guess I may have increased the difficulty of the layout just a bit too much. As you can tell from all of the red drop scores on the leaderboard, pretty much everyone shot their worst score this past week. The layouts are supposd to get more difficult as the league progresses, but I may have over-shot the landing on this one just a bit. Oh well...everyone is in the same boat at least. The good part about this is that if you can come up with a "keeper" score next week, chances are you will be making a move up the leaderboard. If you were looking for a chance to make a move, the current layout seems to be providing the opportunity.

Another thing to consider is the layout for Weeks 7 & 8. The course is going to be set up in the official 2012 St. Louis Open layout. Things aren't going to be getting any easier, so I would recommend against having the "oh well, I guess this is going to be one of our drop weeks" attitude. Everyone still needs to battle through their rounds from beginning to end.

No ACES were hit, so the ACE POOL should be around $150 for next week. Remember when I said it wouldn't take long for the ACE POOL to get back up into the big numbers...

Don't forget to bring some extra cash next week to buy some NSDG/Cardinal Raffle Tickets. You won't want to miss out on this opportunity!

Did anyone happen to find a champion plus mold roc on hole 8 during league this week? It was orangish/pinkish in color, had no name on it, and was left under a tree by the basket. I recently acquired this disc, hence the no name, and would really love to get it back. If you know of it's whereabouts would you please notify me, Kyle Hayhurst! Thanks and happy flying!

Hold on to your pants there, Mr. Strange!

Everyone will get one more drop week factored in after this weeks round. Once I figure in 2 drop weeks for everybody, I will then make the divisional splits. I can tell you right now that there will be at least 4 divisions. I can't tell you how many people will be in each division, however, so trying to speculate would be completely futile.

Here are the standings after Week 6...

I will make the divisional splits in a couple days. I use a couple of different methods (100% blind and proportional) to try and figure out the best breaking points. The only thing that I can assure you is that I am 100% unbiased when it comes to this process. If you happen to come out on the short end of a split, I promise you that it is nothing personal. It just is what it is...

There was another ACE this week. Ernie McGinnis nailed Hole 12B. Nice shooting! The ACE POOL was at $139. That is the highest individual payout thus far this year...the payout is a bit more impressive when you don't have to split it 3 ways! As usual, the ACE POOL resets back to $0. Have no fear, however, as the ACE POOL has been collecting about $75/week, so there will still be a good chunk of change to shoot for the next couple of weeks.

Don't forget to bring some extra money for the Cardinals Ticket Raffle next week. I will be drawing the lucky winner at The Bean House immediately following league. Right now, only about 15 tickets have been purchased, so your odds are still really good. Johnny Lynn is going to be helping out by collecting money this weekend at the Mike Bemis Memorial C-Tier in Alton, so there should be a few more tickets in there, but the odds should still be pretty good when Tuesday rolls around. Get your name in the hat!

Before you get too excited, this is not the official "divisional split" post. I was super busy all weekend hanging drywall (and tee signs at JB) and didn't feel like staring at any numbers when I got home either night. I will have them done by lunchtime today.

I am posting this to remind everyone about the Cardinal Ticket Raffle that ends tomorrow evening (4/24). So far, there has only been $50 worth of tickets sold. The odds are extremly good at this point. I want that to change, however. To encourage more sales before the drawing tomorrow night, I am going to offer some incentives:

- if you are already a JB Leaguer, I will cover your "extras" for this week if you bring me $20 in raffle ticket sales. In other words, if you and 3 of your buddies buy 1 x $5 ticket each, you will get to shoot for all of the CTP flags and ACE POOL for free. So, not only will you have a chance to watch a Cardinals game with the NSDG Tour crew in some killer seats, but you will also have some extra beer/soda money to boot.

- if you are not currently a JB Leaguer, I will cover your "guest" fees for this week if you bring me $30 in raffle ticket sales. In other words, you will get to shoot for the CTP flags and ACE POOL for free while enjoying a round of golf at JB in the St. Louis Open layout. Just show up anytime between 3-5PM and I will get you on a card after we settle up the raffle ticket transaction.

Come on people! This is a sweet promotion that benefits JB, so don't be shy. I am sure that Dave, Nikko, Cale, and Will don't bite, so don't be scared! I'll see y'all tomorrow!
