Here it is! Everything has been finalized on the flyer, so it is now ready for public consumption.
There are a couple of noteworthy items for this years STLO -
1) The Non Stop Disc Golf Tour will be attending this years event! This means that the 4-Man RV Entourage of Nikko Locastro, Dave Feldberg, Will Schusterick, and Cale Leiviska will be playing this year. Want to talk about stepping up the competition...Nikko will definitely have his hands full this year if he wants to pull off another repeat! This should also bring in a ton of talent from all over the nation and possibly even the world. The world's best like playing with the world's best and this years STLO certainly won't disappoint! If you don't plan on participating in the competition this year (even though you know you should), come on out and watch some of the world's best perform their craft like you have never seen before.
2) The Non Stop Disc Golf Tour, with the support of our club, will be putting on a FREE NSDG CLINIC for everybody that registers for the STLO. Non-competitors will be allowed to participate for a nominal fee/donation. This will happen on Saturday during the Player's Party. Dave Feldberg, Nikko Locastro, Will Schusterick, and Cale Leiviska will hold a group clinic for everyone that will cover some of the most important aspects of disc golf form, execution, and mental preparedness. After Dave provides some initial instruction, everyone will be broken up into 3 skill groups. Nikko, Will, and Cale will work with each group from there, providing instruction on some specific skills that should help improve your overall game. What could be better than learning from the best in the world in person?! How cool is that?!
3) Lars (you know him and love him) from LSDiscs will be running a special mini event at Bridgeton DGC on Friday afternoon. What course at Bridgeton, you ask? The new one that is currently waiting to be installed in the next month or so! This 1-Round event will be the inaugural competetive event at this Gold Level course. Even if, for some horrible reason, you can't play in the big event, the mini event might be right up your alley. Everyone is invited to participate and play what promises to be a truly epic course. More details will follow as the date draws near. Stay tuned! The timetable for Bridgeton has been pushed back a month or 2, so the Friday LSDiscs 1-Round Mini Event will be held at Endicott. Please rest assured that Bridgeton is well on its way to becoming a reality VERY soon. For those of you coming in from out of town, you will just have to make another visit later this summer to check it out! It will probably also make the list of courses for next year's STLO in some capacity, so you will have that too.
4) Friday night brings another chance to experience "The Cave" at Crystal City Underground DGC. We haven't hammered out any of the details yet, but I am sure the Jefferson County Sharpshooters won't disappoint. If you haven't had a chance to check this place out, words can do it no justice...you will just have to go check it out for yourself! With the potential for more than 200 people showing up, this could turn out to be an awesome pre-tourney party!
I could go on and on, but I have already been too long winded. Check out the flyers and keep returning for more updates. Most importantly, get yourself pre-registered ASAP. You won't want to miss this one!
