OK, here we go, one last time, I hope.
I completed updating the Ryder Cup Points standings at the top of this thread.
Our fearless captain Dave has decided that we are going with a 2&1 point system. This means that you get 2 points for everyone you beat and 1 point for everyone you tie. He feels this is the fairest method for everyone. I am hopeful that this will remain as the permanent answer (I have spent too much time with this stuff already). If you are worried that these changes are having a negative effect on your point total, I can assure you that the difference is extremely minimal. If you are confused about how this change makes things more fair, ask Dave the next time you see him and he will explain it to you. I am pretty sure I see the benefit, but don't want to incorrectly interpret his intentions. I am just the data entry/numbers guy.
Also, the 2 clubs have finalized the format for this year. There will be 16 players per team this year. Our team will consist of 6 point based qualifiers, 4 automatic bids, and 6 captain picks. If an automatic bid qualifier is also a point based qualifier, the next point based qualifier in line will get the spot.
Thanks for your patience in getting all of this squared away!
