Schroeder Park 2011 Summer League

Well, I missed 7/26 and nobody picked up the mantle of posting results here, but I understand there were a couple aces hit, so the Ace Pool was largely drained coming into tonight. Despite the heat we had our best turnout yet, so we were able to payout first and second place for the first time. Thanks to everyone who showed up!

CTP was on #5 / #14, and was won by Patrick and Jim respectively.
The Ace Pool was hit twice, once by Patrick (#2) and once by Danny (#8). After all is said and done, the Ace Pool sits at $6 going into next week.

As always, PM me if you see any mistakes. Trying to read Jim's chicken scratch is sometimes challenging.

Two announcements:

Next Tuesday, 8/9, we will likely be playing fewer than 18 holes due to time constraints.
Starting Tuesday, 8/16, a few of us will be meeting at the course early to place alternate tee locations for a little variety on the back nine. We have been doing this as we go on weeks with one-card turnouts, and it has made for a good time.

The turnout was light but the grub was not; big thanks to Jim for manning the grill while the rest of us made our way through the front nine. After that we donned our pith helmets and went on a 4-hole safari to finish up the night -- next week we will return to the normal 18-hole format.

CTP was on #1 and was won by Patrick.
The Ace Pool was not hit, so it will be $12 going into next week.

Tonight the league gave out its last CTP prizes for the year. Starting next week and for the remainder of 2011 the $5 buy-in will include the $1 for the ace pool, but there will be no more CTP's.

For the second time we needed sudden death to pick a winner, but this time it only took one hole to finish it off.

Ooooh, so close. Nice win PJ and Alan - I wish I coulda been there.

Grant scored us some plastic from Gateway, so lo and behold there were free CTP prizes, which Miguel hit on both #5 and #14. It looks like we'll have some of these for the next few weeks, so CTP is back on for next week.

I took my shoulder out for a test drive this weekend and it seems to be doing much better. If the game is still on, I'll try to be there.
