Whether you know the course or not, if the baskets are tucked away you end up walking half way down most of the fairways to figure out where the basket is. I'm pretty sure I've seen sign holders that lock in a metal sign. It was kind of like a wall mount (top opening) mailbox with a hole cut out of the front so you could see the sign in front. See the attached picture for my crappy photoshop attempt of explaining it. It shouldn't be very expensive to just have small generic signs that tell you which position the basket is in. Something like this could be used in conjunction with the new signs. Obviously the person who is changing the basket would also have to make sure they change the sign at the tee pad.
