A new year and a new tab, hopefully this will help speed things up as we had hundreds of entries on the other tab.
Rule #1 in the LAKER league......have fun.
It appears that we will be doing the CC version of the Winter Series for the first LAKER league of 2011. This is a charity event and all disc golfers who can, should come out and help the cause. Before play see Francis, Red, John Q., or Bruce to get in on the LAKER round. $3 is good for overall, skins, and hole-n-1 for the LAKER league.
Tags for the LAKER League? Nope, but semi-custom badges can be had for $5, and maybe custom mini's later on in the year.
Chris K., wanna play tag swap? I mentioned it to Red during our last round but forgot after the round. Bring 3 high number tags and 4 disc as I have sold 1 of the tags without a disc to hand out. Thanks.

Disc Up LAKERS,
It is time for the call, "ReguLAKERS, mount up!" We are heading to the ranch this Sunday January 9,2011 @ 09:00. If memory serves me correctly The Traveling LAKERS have not been back to the ranch since "LAKERSFEST", & there is no excuse for that (except for the traveling schedule and all of the courses that we play between visits). Usually we have a huge turnout at the ranch and the fun goes up equally. I understand that with the Saturday round @ West City that some disc golfers may be sore or tired, but every round at the ranch is more fun than the last time and if you ride with someone, you can be fully rested from the ride to enjoy all of the fun.
The LAKERS hope to see you at both the Winter Series '11 round 2 at West City DGC in Festus and Sunday @ "the ranch".

Disc Up LAKERS,
At the Ranch, we had 11 LAKERS brave the cold and ice to toss a cool round. We also saw a good size contingent of Ridge Runners on the course as well. Only 1 disc was left on the ice (Red), and 1 lost in the woods to the right side of the fairway on #10 (Steve K.). If these are recovered and returned, a free LAKER round is the reward!!
Next Sunday we will be warming up for the final Winter Series round at Quail Ridge! 9 am Sunday January 16, 2011. A great chance to get the feel for the course layout with lots of fun, laughs, noise, distractions, and jokes! We will be there, will you? Do you have what it takes to play a full round of LAKER disc golf? Not everyone can survive the rigours of a full 18 holes.

I know Shanx is planning on moving a few of the pins before the Ice Bowl. If he can't get to it by Sunday I'll try to touch base to see where he wants them and get them moved on Saturday. The only one I care about is making sure 16 stays at the bottom of the hill to keep it out of the way of sledders. If he does want that one moved for the Ice Bowl I would prefer that it is done at the last minute since there is a chance for snow next week.

Disc Up Andy,
Thank you for your actions on trying to get the pins into the ice bowl placements before the LAKERS come out. Your efforts are always appreciated and probably not thanked enough. If you need help, give me a call, I might be able to help in the am, as I am going eagle watching (with the family, family first always) on Saturday instead of going to the JB ice bowl.

Disc up LAKERS,
Thanks G, you should come out this Sunday and spend the day with us.
On Sunday January 23, 2011 we had 7 LAKERS enjoying a snowy good time playing one of the LAKER specials, a split 9. 9 holes at Bluebird DGC and then a quick shot down the road for the second 9 @ Manchester DGC. Only 1 disc vanished & that was Steve’s, on hole #7 at Bluebird DGC. The tee pad shot went about ¾ of the expanse to the pin but off into the woods on the right. My memory fails me on the type of disc, but I believe the color was in the red family & had his name/number on it. Maybe Steve will post the correct type & color. If returned to the LAKERS, the standing remuneration is 1 free round for LAKER League.
