Disc Up LAKERS,
The throw down in Bridgeton was a great success. We had over 25 participants on the course at 1 time, a dozen LAKERS, 10 Super Pro’s, and Red army had another group of about ½ dozen. Most everyone gave a $1 extra for the basket funds, not much but every little bit helps. We had coffee, hot chocolate, and ham and cheese sandwiches after the round. Everyone completed the 27 holes and all baskets were broken down & put away before evening.

Disc Up LAKERS,
This Sunday @ 09:00 hours February 20, 2011, we will be taking on the Jefferson County Monster Course known as West City DGC. As always hot coffee, hot chocolate, and some snacks will be obtainable up at the nominal price of sharing your fun side with everyone.
This is a grand time to come out and build your overall game on this course as the JCS membership round takes place on 3/12/11 at West City DGC. This is one of the longest courses in the greater Saint Louis area and it will tax your energy and reserves as well as demanding a extensive array of shots.
Sharpshooters, don’t be terrified, come on out and take your best shot at the LAKERS ace pool, which currently stands at over $125.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that the JCS doesn’t know how to “kick it up”! When Tiny e and I pulled in to park there were 20 golfers already there! Much appreciation for taking the LAKERS for a ride on the big course. After 5 ½ hours of disc golfing, we completed 1 round, sounds like a long time but figure that in actuality there were about 22 rounds played in that amount of time. Not as bad, looking at it that way. The LAKERS should be back in 2 or 3 weeks to do a split 9 with Jokerst/Arnold, hopefully with a larger hole-n-1 pool for everyone to try for.

There will be no LAKER League this Sunday February 27, 2011 because of the Collinsville Ice Bowl and we will not want to take away from charity. This is the last of the Ice Bowl events in the vicinity so come out, take pleasure in the nice day, bring some canned goods, & shoot some disc.

On Sunday March 6, 2011 we will be at the Bridgeton Super Nooner, and in typical DG’er style, the nooner starts at 11:00 hours. If you have some baskets to setup you will want to arrive around 09:30 hours. If you have not played this course setup yet, it is time you come out and see what all the hubbub is about.

Francis shot a 49 in the final round today for a huge move up. That is the best round for the day in his division and tied for the best round overall in his division. Scorekeeper ended up tied for 6th overall. Way to go Scorekeeper, makin the LAKERS proud.

Disc Up LAKERS,
After 2 weeks of varying from our customary route, ha ha I said root, we will be returning to our South side trek. This week (3/13/11) will be a split 9 either Jokerst/Arnold, or Arnold/Jokerst, depending on what is the preference, I will post which comes first after I can find out what the masses polled choose.
Does anyone know what shape Arnold DGC is in flood water wise? If it is to wet, we will probably play both tees at Jokerst. Stay tuned, same LAKER time, same LAKER channel.

Disc up LAKERS,
I have gotten this good news on Tuesday 3/8/11:
Arnold was good on Saturday and should be good unless we get a BUNCH more rain. Judging from the forecast it may be a bit muddy, but not under water. Jokerst is good to go. The Parks Dept. took down a couple of dead trees on hole three and still have some limbs and such to clean-up but nothing that hinders play. I will pass along the info to the players at the Thursday league.
Looks like a split 9.
