Dan,
Don't let the Triple Crown stand in the way of progress. The event will be at JB from 9-11ish at Unger from 12ish-3ish and Endicott after that. As long as you're not trying to measure on a course that is being played at that moment you'll probably be alright. That is, of course, unless you are planning on playing the Triple Corwn
Time to get serious about having fun

There's a 90% chance I will be at Quail Sunday if you are interested on that day.

Jeff,
I was more concerned with people being available to help versus being on the course.
Jorge,
Sounds like QR on Sunday. You can spare about 2-2.5 hours?
What is your preferred time? (I am flexible.)
BTW, is there a playground at QR?.. I might take the daughter and wife for an afternoon at the park too.

I prefer the morning if possible. If not, a group of us normally play at 9 am and get done around noon, so I could meet up with you after our first round. There are plenty of playgrounds, the biggest of which is just down the street from the disc golf parking lot, near hole 3.

The only problem with doing this later in the day is the large amount of people who play the course. Since it is going to be a perfect day, anything from 11am on will be packed.

Let me know if that works. You are more than welcome to join our 9am group.

More measuring...

I want to do Endicott, CC, QR, and Unger. (no, I didn't make it to QR Sunday).
Thanks though to Chris (aka Jorge) for offering to meet me there.

Anyone one up for meeting me during the evening this later this week?
Say Wednesday-Friday at ~ 5-530pm? It would actually go MUCH faster if I
had two volunteers. One that knows the pin locations (or Tee locations as
the case may be), and one just to help. It is MUCH easier with the equipment
I have borrowed to do it this way, and it will go MUCH faster than before.
If there is only one person and myself, it goes slower, but can still get done
(I still have a good system for doing it this way.)

Thanks.
DD

(PS, I will only have this equipment for a few more days (or perhaps a week
or two), so I need to use it as much as possible befire I have to ship it back.
The unit I wind up buying will not be as easy to use.)

Once again, I want to measure (remeasure actually) JB front 9.

If TWO people join me, I can likely get it done in under an hour and then we can actually play a round.
I missed a few holes the 1st time around, but I really want to remeasure with my more accurate LRF...

Thanks.

A BIG thanks goes out to Ron R. and Rick for helping me with the front nine measuring at JB this evening.
They both elected to help me out for about 40 minutes instead of playing.

JB is now complete with very accurate measurements.

I will re-post as soon as I get them tallied up and organized.

But, real quick, you know on hole 8, that big tree everyone aims at, and wants to know how far it is?...

It is 337.5 feet from the front of the tee pad.
The "A" position is 384 feet. More later..

JB Hole distances, updated.

Postby gottagothrow on Thu Sep 03, 2009 11:42 pm

I went out again on the front nine with the same accurate LRF as I did for the back.
These are way more accurate than the numbers I came up with the 1st time around.
Now, the reason the numbers are different on some of the holes, my measuring device
is much more accurate, plus it uses a different methodology as I did the 1st time around.
On the majority of the holes, I measured from Tee to myself (or helper), then from
myself (or helper) to the pin locations. This introduces errors and different "routes."
What this LRF does it measures from point "A" to "B" without using a "C."
This means it is a direct route and does not take into considering the intermediate position.

Bottom line is, with the exception of hole 5 placement "B," the distances are excellent.
Hole 5 "B" will play a bit longer due to having to go through the "gap" THEN turning right.
Where as the LRF measured the straight line distance from tee to pin.
Again, the front nine are the only ones that changed, the back didn't change.

Hole 1,
A) 252ft (was 243ft) with a drop of 20ft (Scorecard & Tee sign says 255ft)
B) 294ft (was 312ft) with a drop of 23ft (Scorecard & Tee sign says 306ft)
C) 377ft (was 399ft) with a drop of 25ft (Scorecard & Tee sign says 416ft)
D) 459ft (was 486ft) with a drop of 20ft (not on scorecard or tee sign)

Hole 2,

C) 356ft (was 408ft) with a drop of 10ft (Scorecard & Tee sign says 427ft)
D) 356ft (was 369ft) with a drop of 10ft (not on scorecard or tee sign)
