everyone over 40 was invited, they just needed to show up. A team roster would have helped... But next time better choices will be made when picking captains before hand...

Oh there will definitely be a next time. Great seeing you and watching how a relaxed Jeff Irwin plays, great round Jeff I really had a blast. Also nice meeting you too Big Andy, it was a pleasure being able to play a round of golf with you. Lets see, Jeff beat me by 9 and Big Andy beat me by 9 that is 18 strokes. You know I will be thinking about that for a long time, and I'll be talking to all my Cagey Old Veteran friends, we'll be ready next time. Big thanks for the young guns who got old real quick, you showed heart and a desire to play by moving onto our team, thanks for making this challenge happen.

Nice Ace Jeff

Thumbs up for team challenges!
Thanks again,
Mark Kane

every guy that played the j b leauge and that also played masters vs open knew i was sick as a dog sat. greg doh let everybody know. i also talked to jerry sat to let him know my situation and he was more than happy to take over and be the capt. i can tell by your post that you did not listen to what everybody else heard. sad.
when i first came up with the master vs pro it was not a club event bryan johson and jerry were to be the captains.i was to run the event. the capts. were going to hand pick 12 players per team. the players from the ryder cup team would have been playing. plus players that did not quite make it.i wanted to play this at least 1 or 2 week prior and on the courses that we would play them on. knowing what our match play is and playing our match is two different things. what i was wanting to do is give our team a little pactice on how to play the format.were going to have a bunch of new guys on our team, i wanted to give them a little exp. ive been playing on the team for over 10 years. there is something new every year.what really gets me is that none of you that post here except for jerry, c lang, know anythig about the ryder cup. it takes a few years to get to know the format. why dont you guys come out and support our team. mabey caddie for the guys give them every chance to win. coloumbia is coming here to win. they want to crush us bad. i know every one of there players there all good. i challange every man that reads this post to come out and support your team.
as you can tell this is very very important to me and all the old hats that have been on the team before.
we could use you help.

I think there were more complaints dealing with the pre-event organization and lack of team roster. Hardly any Masters showed up because they were not contacted by the Captain. Sure, we knew you were sick, but it seemed like non of the Masters even knew if they would be chosen for the team since a roster was never published.
I would like to propose that next time we do this, we do it more how was described originally, with a TD, 2 Captains and 2 teams of 18+/- and BBQ lunch between rounds. Either way it was a lot of fun.
So, should effort be put into organizing another event of this type this year, or should it hold off until next Spring? Answer with your vote. Us "young" guys can play in any conditions... and win!

why are you hung up on a roster. names on a roster dont mean anybody is going to show. if you want to play show up and play. you took this event over. why did you not make any flyers and post them at each course. you could have said rog here is a list of all the master aged members with numbers to get in touch with. very few members even get on this bord at all. to make a point there were 2 or 3 post with a list of masters on it. to me that was a indepth list. for me to field a team i needed to be able to get in touch with the members not just post a bunch of names on a little used meassage bord. are you goingt to come out and support your team jeff . or just keep hateing on people.

hang on just a sec, I didn't do anything but pick a date to get the ball rolling. When I showed up at Endicott, I had nothing to do with organization, money or anything. I simply posted people's concerns about the roster. Anyway its in the past, so next, hopefully time you'll be able to play.
I like the idea of "Old man" Barklage being a captain, he is definately the right man for the job. He also came up with a great idea for another event. It would be a team event like this where we have 30-40 people show up, we pick 2-4 captains and have them go back and forth, picking their teams playground style. Lowest total score wins!
