I will be there for sure. It will only be the back course due to the basket removal from half of the top course.

Basket removal??? What is that all about? Are they finally replacing those old, original Mach 1's with some better baskets? I've wanted to see that happen for YEARS.........

The baskets on the top course are going to be repainted and cleaned up. I have tried to lobby with the columbia club regarding updating the baskets on the top course however they won't due to the fact that it was the first course in Missouri. I have offered ideas about raffling the baskets to the highest bidder one by one or using Albert Oakland Junior high (next to hole 4 on the back) as way into the EDGE match a basket program to no luck.

The course was setup really short for the ice bowl but yesterday I moved about 5 pins farther to add difficulty.

I hope to see some of the STL guys out there.

There should be a strong contigient(sp) from STL if the weather works.
Still a little early in the season for this old man to play in not ok weather.

Okay......thanks for the info. However, one thing that you mentioned is VERY inaccurate. The front course at Albert-Oakland is ONE of the first courses in Missouri, but not THE first! The first one in Missouri was White Birch Park in Hazelwood. The Albert Oakland course probably was one of the first five, along with Swope in KC, Oak Grove (I think that's the name) in Springfield, & the original Hannibal course that didn't last too long. Anyway, I think that is a shame that the Columbia club feels that way.....I mean, we aren't still out there throwing old Whamo frisbees, are we?? The discs have changed, no reason why the baskets can't ALSO change.........

You are correct, Birch was the first course in Missouri. Sadly, I should know that because it used to be my home course. Albert Oakland top was number two.

I would do anything for the club to help get new baskets.
