2011 CDGC bagtag tournament

all right kids...
it's that time again!


we are holding this event to give players the opportunity to join our club and also to help raise funds for course improvements.
this year the focus is on permanent creek crossings (bridges).
along with tree removal and planting. (the ice storm in jan. changed the way some holes play.)

where: foundation park in Centralia, IL.

when: saturday, april 23rd

registration: 8:30 - 9:40

players meeting: 9:45

round starts: 10:00

format: 1 round consisting of 27 holes (best score = #1 tag... right on down the line). we will play on both the champ side {18} and on the rec. side {9) ,that way everyone gets to enjoy the full disc golf experience of foundation park.

cost: $15 per player


what you receive: our highly collectible CDGC bagtag AND a chance to test your skills on one of the toughest courses in the area.

we will also have an ace pool and some CTP's.

i may have to schedule an outing thataway for the crew i regularly roll around with on weekends...

we have decided to add some fun by setting up a 9 hole temp course towards the south end of the park (out and around the pond).
this means we will be playing a round on the champ side and now a round of eighteen on the the rec side.
since we are now doing two full rounds (one morning,one afternoon), we are moving the start time to 9AM.
registration: 7:30 - 8:40
players meeting: 8:45

now since we are working with another area in the park, we have reserved a pavilion with electricity.
having electricity means that we (the club) will be able to provide
you (the players) WITH LUNCH!! yay!!

so the plan is to meet at the same shelter (the sentinal shelter) where we have held ALL previous events.
play our first round on the champ course, collect the cards, then move the short distance to the pavilion by the catfish pond (south side of park), enjoy some tasty food, do a quick vote for club officers and send players out for the second round on our rec course (with some very cool holes on the temp 9).

so...
hope you players can fit this into your DG schedule, if you can't make it YOUR GONNA MISS OUT!!

since i saw an incorrect start time listed in another thread,let me remind everyone that the start time for saturday's event is:
9:00 tee off
7:30 - 8:40 registration

the reason for the early start is that anybody who has played centralia's champ course knows that it can take 3 - 3 1/2 hours to complete a round, now factor in sloppy ground conditions,the speed of "tournament" play,a lunch break and another 18 holes on the rec. course (9 from the temp/ 9 from the permanent) and we will probably be completing the tourney about 4:00 - 4:30.

start early, finish early (we hope).
