Endicott Course Improvements

Project; Dig drainage path and lay 200 feet of rock and membrane wrapped perforated pipe at holes 4 and 6 tee pads.
Project is not complete. Work day scheduled for Monday 3/22. Call Chris K, 314-583-3340, if you can help. We are in need of a truck that can handle 2 to 3 tons of rock. We are also in need of a mountain of mulch. Bring shovels, wheelbarrows, bow rakes, etc.

5 men;

8a to 2:30p = 7 hours x 3 men = 21 hours
11a to 2p = 3 hours x 1 man = 3 hours
8a to 9a = 1 hours x 1 man = 1 hour
Assorted golfers = 1.5 hours
Total hours = 26.5 hours
Pick up materials for drainage at holes 4 and 6
Transport materials to holes 4 and 6
Dig trench and lay rock
Total Cost to date; $441

Gas for truck - $20

THIS POST APPLIES TO EVERY GOLFER AND EVERY COURSE;

You do not need a 'work day' to make course improvements. Please pick up trash every time you play on any course you play. It is the most noticeable 'course improvement' of them all.
Cigarette butts are considered trash and do not break down. I know there are a lot of you who smoke and don't think it matters that you pitch your spent cigarette butts or plastic cigar pieces. After all, they are so small you can't see them until you are up close.
When you clean up the courses, everybody has a better golf experience. The next time you toss the grocery bag in the trash at home, stop and put it in your golf bag instead. Picking up trash is easier when you have a place to put it until the next trash can.

Chris Mueller from Accent Landscaping is meeting me at Brentwood Material at 6:30a to pick up 3 yards (tons) of rock on Monday. We will be working on Endicott at 7:30a. Please bring your wheelbarrows, tools and energy to work the course at hole 4. Once that is done we will go to hole 7.

I wish I'd seen the notice of more work going on today, before I saw you guys there about 1230. I'd just stopped to read a bit before heading back to work, and drove by and saw the crew on 4. The work looks good from that distance, thanks for undertaking it.

I played Endicott yesterday and I have to give credit where credit is due, the improvements that have been implemented at this course to deal with drainage, reduce debris buildup and standing water are top notch. They appear to be not only well designed and functional, they were installed in a minimal amount of time and will be beneficial to the areas that were updated for years. Whomever designed and completed this task did a great job. I'm glad to see membership revenue put back into the courses to make real improvements.
I've also thought, since graffiti is such a problem there, why don't you paint the tee posts black from the sign down, and paint the top of the post yellow so it can still be seen by people looking for the tee. It's an inexpensive improvement that will improve the overall look and uniformity of the course.

if you folks think its kosher, i can do that sometime this week. i plan to get out there to play monday, tuesday, or wednesday, and there's a hardware store right across the street from my work so getting the paint won't be a problem.

The improvements to this course lately have been awesome! It seems every time I go out to Endicott, there is something else done. The work around # 8's tee pad is just beautiful. Endicott already was one of our top courses in the St. Louis area, if this keeps up, it WILL be the best course, period..........

I like Jeff's idea. How often would the painting need to be redone though?
Whenever graffiti occurs? Once a year? That would be my only concern.
