St. Charles County Open - C Tier - SCCDGC - October 13th

Postby magic on Thu Sep 05, 2013 8:16 pm

The date did have to change for this event due to a conflict with the parks dept. I looked at some other options, but nothing was working out. It is what it is...

I've made a request to the parks dept to make a second cut in the tall grass. It will still be OB, but should make it much easier to find errant discs. They will be cutting around 8" tall, so the OB line should still be pretty easy to see. I'm not sure how much further they plan on cutting back, but it should be in the 20' range to start. You never know...it could all be mowed by this tournament.

Sorry Mark, before I moved it to the 13th I checked the full schedule that Doh had posted and there was nothing listed for that date. I hate going against other events especially a fundraiser. My bad and I apologize. I'm just glad I won't have to deal with scheduling next year...

Mark,
Give me a call, I just worked up a pretty sweet stamp for fundraiser discs that I'd like to use. I sen you a PM, but my PMs like to hang out in the Outbox and not go through.

Damn I already made plans that weekend. I would love to be at this tourney.

The only way to pre-register for this event is by signing up on the PDGA website or getting in touch with me to make arrangements for payment. I noticed that you registered today Shaun, so you are good. I'm really not expecting a full field so you probably don't need to pre-register, but that is still the only way to guarantee your spot.

All Amateur players will receive a player's pack consisting of a custom stamped Innova Star Katana, Wraith or Tern, sticker and mini. We should have quite a few extra packs available to purchase at $10.

Lunch will consist of chili cheese dogs and there should be plenty of drinks available throughout the day.

Both rounds will be played from the short tee pads. All pin placements are getting set today and there will be a good mix of short and long.

For those that haven't played ICC in a while, the parks dept has made a second cut in the tall grass about 10-20' wide. We are still debating if we will be using the first or second cut as the OB line, but a lot of that will depend on if the parks dept does any more mowing this week. Either way there shouldn't be as much of a problem with discs getting lost in the tall grass.

I can't wait! After getting a quintuple circle 12 at Sioux on Sunday I need some redemption. That's a record I wish to never beat! :o
