Holes 3, 6, 8, 9, and 14 are probably the par 4s and out of those 14 is the only one I'd consider a true par 4. We will be playing the red or short tees though, a few of the holes are over 300 but most are in the 200-250 range. There should be time afterwards though for a round from the longs if people wanna run some side action. The shorts were meant to be very beginner friendly, and the nature of the birdie bash is like the discraft ace race, lots of running and gunning on shorter holes.

we will be playing the shorts as a straight up 54, I consider the longs par 55 myself.

Registration is winding down...5 days left to get in. $25 gets your choice of 2 vibram discs and a t shirt. We're playing 2 rounds of 18 holes and I've got 30 ctp prizes (more vibram discs and minis) to give away for 36 holes of golf...pretty good shot of winning some extra stuff in addition to the included gear. I'll also be doing an optional $2 ace pool, if one isn't hit we will throw off for the cash.

Instead of normal stroke play we're playing for points...5 points for an ace, 1 point for a metal hit (good off the tee shot or your second shot), and 2 points for a birdie. Most points across 2 rounds wins, with the winner getting either a pair of vibram five fingers shoes or a spot on their prototype test team. Second round card winners will also receive a sweet vibram rubber coaster and stainless steel water bottle, so even if you don't shoot well the first round you still have a chance of winning something second round.

The short tees have plenty of ace runs, so there should be a lot of birdies. Registration ends April 7 at the end of the day, don't wait around and forget to register in time. Event is actually the following Sunday, April 14 check in at 9, tee off at 10.

Here is the link to the vibram site with more details and a list of events. There is a link that takes you directly to the company who hosts the registration itself.

Today and tomorrow are the last days to get registered for the Birdie Bash before vibram ships out all of the gear. So if you want to play make sure it gets done by tomorrow night (April 7). If you haven't played the course yet, this is a good opportunity to come check it out. I know there will be another tournament out here in late May, so seeing the course ahead of time might let you get familiar with some of the homeboy lines.

Sorry for the slight delay, here are the point totals for the event...

Chris Gore 20 19 39
Glenn Bietsch 10 23 33
Jeff Wulf 17 13 30
Eric Fussell 13 17 30
Jeff Ligon 15 13 28
Clifford Rush III 12 16 28
Ray Vuichard 14 13 27
Brian Cassens 13 14 27
Jason Roberts 10 17 27
Greg Wilcox 10 16 26
Bob Waidmann 8 18 26
Cody Britton 11 14 25
Seth Kempf 13 11 24
Nick Forbeck 11 12 23
Mike Rupp 12 11 23
Rafe Preston 13 9 22
Derek Haas 10 12 22
Steven Fisher 11 10 21
Loyde Braidlow 15 5 20
Shobu 13 6 19
Jeff Mceuen 10 9 19
Andy Roden 10 8 18
Joe Ervin 13 5 18
Mike Hanson 7 11 18
Tony Walker 11 7 18
Dan Brown 9 8 17
Mike White 9 6 15
Rob Hubler 6 8 14
Steve Farrell 6 5 11
Bill Ennis 2 6 8
Alana Faucett 0 4 4
Jim Wahl 4 0 4

The wind wasn't too terrible during the first round, but picked up pretty strong during the second round. Ray aced hole 5 during the first round to take the ace pot. Glenn Bietsch scored a blistering 23 points (best score all day) during the second round to jump up several cards and take second place behind Chris Gore. Chris had his choice between a pair of Vibram five fingers shoes or a place on the Vibram disc test team. Chris opted for the shoes, so Glenn will now be a member of the Vibram prototype disc test team. Suprisingly enough a lot of people scored better during the second round in the wind and I think there were fewer discs lost in the lake than anybody expected. I know I lost my putter 5 holes into the second round and had to play the rest of the round with only my driver.

Thanks everybody for coming out, I wasn't sure how well something like this would go over. If Vibram decides to make this a yearly thing I will look into doing it again.
