the flyer says divisions are based on PDGA rating.

Will River City ratings be used for people without PDGA rating?

Mike R I'm not sure about which ratings will be used maybe both. But I did some math for you and the RCF ratings are about a .30 difference from the PDGA. I figure if you are rated at 10.00 PDGA then you have aprox. a 9.70 RCF rating. If that helps you figure what division to play. The numbers I ran were pretty random and a .30 is the closest avg. I found. If you are really concerned about exact ratings differences try to get with Teddy Ballgame or Greg W. either one of those guys :ugeek: can give you a better idea than me since they came up with the program/system.

I am 867 on the PDGA system, based on 7 rounds, and 8.67 on the River City ratings, based on 22 rounds. They track pretty close for me.

This puts me in the REC division, which is ok. Carrolton eats me alive.

I guess I was more curious to see if the River City ratings were going to be applied in general. I like the ratings system. It takes away a lot of the head games when trying to figure our what division to play. On the one hand I want to play in a competetive environment, and on the other I hate being called a sand bagger if I happen to have a good day.

The last time I updated the PDGA vs. River City Ratings analysis I've done (admittedly several months ago), the River City Ratings were, on average, 1.019x folks' PDGA ratings (adjusted to scale). So, again on average, a 1000-rated PDGA player would have a River City Rating of 10.19.

Overall, for the folks who had both PDGA ratings and River City Ratings, as of the last time I updated the comparison, the correlation between the two (r squared) was 72.79%.

thanks

Thanks for setting me straight ted. I think I figured out my math now. First didnt factor the difference in number of rounds rated(rcf-pdga). Sorry if that bumps you up a division there Mike.

If I multiply my 8.67 x 1.019, I get 8.835, so I will go rec for this tourney.

It really is good to know where I'm supposed to be playing. I'd love to see tournaments apply the RFC ratings more often. Thanks.

Great tourny guys, the best run one I've been to this year. No late start on either round, no waiting on tee pads for other groups, awsome ctps,50/50s,&payouts. Using the ratings both PDGA & RCF to split up divisions w/ no baggin'. Thanks to Doh, The Kid, & the Gateway crew. Hope we can do it again next year.
