Yes it will cover your doubles round if you lose. As for the field being limited I don't think we will cap it we will just make necessary change according to the number of golfers cause we would never turn a fellow golfer down

This is a single elimanation. Once down to the finial 8, the rest will play a doubles event. Top 8 are getting paid. As bison said, the feild will be adjusted per golfers that show up.
