anyone have an explanation why they cut down the tree at 13?

i couldn't make it to there anyway, but that removal wrecks a good part of the character that hole had. the tree wasn't even dead!

what gives??

DAMN...........man, I hate to hear that.

On a postive note, though, a couple of trees were recently planted down by # 13's basket, placed just perfectly too......

Wasn't that welded onto the pole? Persistent thieves, I guess. If it wasn't stolen, thanks to whomever has it in safekeeping until we can re-weld it back into place.

On a related note, I think the County Parks pays for any losses due to theft. I know they did a few years back at JB when someone stole the entire basket 18. I am not sure of their financial willingness at this point in time, though. In any event, I know for a fact that DGA sells replacement parts for just this scenario. I'm sure it isn't dirt cheap or anything, but at least it won't be $450. If we ever find out who the thief is, I say we bury them head first in the ground with their feet sticking out and have a nice, long Ring-of-Fire session!

Well I went out to Sioux on Monday, 12/20, & the whole top (number plate, chain assembly) is now missing on # 6's basket. The pole & basket itself are still there. And yes, it HAD been welded to the pole........

Played Sioux on 12/30/10, &, there is a nice, shiny, brand new basket at hole # 6 where the old one had been vandalized. I don't know if the County Parks guys had an extra one in waiting or what, but this was GOOD to see ......

Hole 6 is close to that neighborhood, I bet the thieves are coming through there. Maybe we can hang a deer camera and catch them in the act. A brand new basket will probably entice them to vandalize again.
