Quail Ridge Course Ratings

Had a bit of time on my hands, so I came up with a very rough rating system for Quail Ridge. I only had good scores going back to the Ice Bowl in 2009. There is a link to the spreadsheet below. One is sorted by name and the other by score. It is just the average score played from the red tee pads.

I do have the scores on there from other tee pads, but did not include those. It took a bit of time to get all of the data in there, but now that it is all there I plan on playing around with it to see if a rating system can be used in order to include all rounds. Dan Doke previously came up with a ratings system for the JB league. I’m going to take a look at that and see if it can be applied to this. There were quite a few guys who had their rating based on 10+ scores. I realize that only a certain amount of recent scores should be used, but for now I just included all of them.

I most likely will be using this rating system for at least one of the glow rounds at QR next year. I realize not everyone has a rating and some only have one score that the rating is based on. I'm not too concerned about having just one score to go by. There will eventually be more. If someone doesn't yet have a rating they would just be placed in the top flight.

Once I get it formatted a little better I will try and get it posted in pdf format also for anyone that doesn’t have excel.

Below are the scores from the Ridge Runner Open. The score in bold on the left is what your average score (rating) is. For some players that rating is their score from the reds on the second round since that was the only score I had to go by.

I think the data speaks for itself in that some guys are playing in a lower division then they should be, but I also think there are some guys playing in a higher division then they should be.

I was getting the data from the scores posted on-line and for whatever reason I didn’t have the round scores for Robo and Mark Stulce. I should have those at home though and will update them when I can. This would have been the only score I had for Robo therefore no rating. I did have 3 other scores for Mark to base his rating on.
