Dan and I looked at 3-way, 4-way, and 5-way splits several different ways. The 4-way split provided the most competition. I am sure a few teams will be a little disappointed with the splits just missing them, but I promise you we went into this process with our blinders on. Also, remember that there are still 3 weeks to go and the course is only going to get shorter. There is still time to make a move.

JB Doubles Summer II League '10 Week 7

Here are the results...

One week to go and there are some serious battles out there! Don't forget that I provide plaques for the 1st and 2nd place teams ONLY in each division. Payouts will go deeper than this, but if you want a cool plaque and are on the fringe, better step it up this last week.

John Misuraca hit his first ACE ever on Hole 16B (295 ft.). Nice shooting! He takes home $120 cash for his efforts. Nice!

This officially resets the ACE POOL for the last week. Because it is the last week, and the interest would be low, I am going to do something different for the ACE POOL. Everyone that gets in on the ACE POOL for Week 8 will have access to a throw-off during the Week 9 activity. If no one hits an ACE during Week 8, everyone that contributed to the ACE POOL will be allowed to take part in an ACE POOL CTP THROWDOWN during the Week 9 activity. I will probably have 2 or 3 ACE POOL CTPs set up on the course. Only the people that contributed to the ACE POOl the week prior will have access to these CTPs. Just a little incentive to get involved for $1.

JB Doubles Summer II League '10 Final Results

The competition was fierce and the complaining was minimal. Thank you, everyone, for the awesome 8 weeks! If every league runs this smooth, I might just keep on doing this for awhile. BTW, a hearty thanks goes out to all of the individuals that made some killer donations for the league. In particular, I would like to thank Dan Doke and Brad Stone. Dan apexed the $300 mark in terms of CTP donations (do I see a plaque in your future?), which included somewhere around 10-15 discs, multiple hats, disc golf ramen packs, golf towels, and various other cool DG stuff. Make sure to give him a big "thank you" when you see him. You da man! Brad donated all sorts of cool G.I. goodies. To put a value on them is probably a losing cause...let's just say it was quite substantial. Let's see - 2 pair of Oakley's, #5 Albert P. lithographs, bad-ass aluminum tourney chairs, fun as hell M.R.E.'s, and the list goes on. He is new to the scene and I hope he remains a constant fixture. You can all aspire. Make sure you let him know his donations are appreciated.

Everyone that contributed to the ACE POOL on Week 8 will have access to 2 ACE POOL CTPs during the Week 9 activity. If you did not pay into the ACE POOL for Week 8, you are not eligible for these CTPs. If you ask real nice and donate $2, I might be able to fit you in. There was $53 collected, so there will be 2 $25 CTPs. If I collect extra dollars, I will split it up between the two.

Congratulations to all of the division winners! The talent heavy team of Bryan Johnson and David Rose took the overall by quite a margin. If I am not mistaken, -80 is the best score posted since before my time. Even Nikko/Boro didn't post a number that large. Good stuff!

JB Doubles League '10 Week 9 Activity

First of all, EVERYONE in the area is allowed to participate in the Week 9 Activity. You do not need to be a member of the doubles league to join in on the fun. For $5, as a guest, you will get to participate in the round of golf, the FREE CTP competitions (ACE POOL CTPs excluded), and join us for the FREE PIZZA PARTY at The Bean House afterwards. As usual, the PIZZA PARTY will be followed by Neil Brown's famous CTJs! If you need to ask what these are, do yourself a favor and just show up. They are a total blast!

The Week 9 Activity this league session is going to be a Battle at the Barracks warm-up. I am posting the flyer below. There is going to be one difference from the info posted. Instead of a 25-5-1 scoring ratio, we are going to try out a 25-10-5 scoring ratio. The course design is courtesy of Mark Dudenhoeffer. He always comes up with something interesting and fun for everyone to enjoy.

I will start putting cards out around 3:30 PM and the last card will go out at 5:30 PM sharp. This activity is free for all current JB leaguers. Donations, however, are greatly appreciated and help fund any overhead at the pizza party. Anything left over at the end of the night goes directly towards JB course improvements.
