3.1: The STLDGC Matching Baskets Program

3/1/12: The St. Louis Disc Golf Club Matching Baskets Program

The STL Disc Golf Club, the River City Flyers, is proud to announce a matching baskets program for 2012: If any club, group, or municipality is ready to put a new disc golf course into the ground, the RCF will offer to supply half of the baskets for the course (5 for a 9 hole course; and 9 for an 18 hole course).

Other details of the program:
*The new course must be within 60 miles of St. Louis City

*Baskets must be put in within 3 months of the agreement (so as not to restrict other course possibilities)

*Baskets will not be turned over to the recipient until they are within 1 week of being put in the ground (some form of proof will be required)

*There are a maximum of 27 matching baskets available in 2012 for this program

*If the course is closed and not relocated, the RCF retains the right to the baskets (to put into a different course)

*RCF has the option to run, or help run, a tournament at the new course (to help generate interest in the sport – especially if no other club is involved). If the recipient is a municipality, we should be able to run tournaments at the course without any rental fees.

If you’re with an area Club exploring new course opportunities, a local Parks Dept. or other institution looking at putting in a DG course, or are a golfer with an idea for a new Course, this is your opportunity to pair with one of the largest Clubs in the country to get some baskets in the ground…let’s work together to grow the sport and pastime of Disc Golf in the St. Louis area!

I had an idea for a 9 hole in a local area within the St. Louis County Limits. The park is owned and operated tby the municipality of Overland and the park is named Mort Jacobs. I have had the idea for awhile and I truely think it would be a good fit for the area and for RCF. I played Jokerest and its a fun quick 9 hole course and this park reminds me of it 100%. Thoughts, comments, ideas…
